Founded in 2016 by Miami entrepreneur Matt McKenna, Imperial Moto initially emerged as a lifestyle brand and custom motorcycle builder. In 2017, fueled by McKenna's passion for vintage motorcycles and specialty coffee, Imperial Moto expanded its vision to include a gathering place for enthusiasts in Miami's Little River neighborhood. This concept, now known as Imperial Moto Café, prioritized signature coffee offerings, embodying the brand's tagline: "Elevate your coffee experience."
With a commitment to quality, Imperial Moto ensures that its partners adhere to standards of excellence, emphasizing sustainable farming practices and ethical labor. Their inaugural specialty coffee release, the Café Racer Blend, pays homage to the iconic motorcycle style synonymous with the intersection of caffeine and gasoline.
In the summer of 2022, Imperial Moto celebrated the opening of its second location at the Aventura Mall, recreating its original ambiance and extending its values and coffee experience to a broader audience.
Today, Imperial Moto has evolved into a multifaceted enterprise, encompassing a lifestyle apparel brand, specialty coffee shops, retail coffee offerings, and wholesale distribution to some of Miami's premier restaurants.
